Pest control businesses don't all publish prices, and those that do describe their jobs differently, so comparing them takes a little care. The figures below were copied from each business's own website on 27 October 2026. They are starting prices, and each business confirms the actual price once it knows your house and the ants. They are not the prices of the business we refer to, which quotes you directly.

What that means for a typical house
Put together, a treatment for a small home or one area tends to start somewhere around $210 to $255 once GST is included, and an inside-and-outside treatment of a three-bedroom home is listed at roughly $340 to $400. A general spray that covers several insects costs more. Larger homes, cavity nests and follow-up visits push the price above these ranges.
What changes the price
- Size of the house and section. More rooms and longer boundaries take more time and product.
- Inside, outside or both. Most Argentine ant jobs need the outside treated; wall-nesting ants need the inside baited too.
- The species. White-footed house ants and Argentine ants often need a follow-up visit. A single trail of a less persistent species may not.
- Access. Sub-floor crawl spaces, steep sections and two-storey exteriors add time.
- Follow-ups and warranties. A price that includes a return visit or a re-treatment period isn't directly comparable with one that doesn't.
- Location. Remote parts of the region can carry a travel charge.
Comparing quotes fairly
Ask each business for the total including GST, the areas treated, whether a follow-up is included, and what the re-treatment terms are. The questions on choosing a company help. A cheaper quote that covers only the inside of the house can end up costing more if the ants come straight back from the garden.
When doing it yourself is cheaper
A pack of shop bait costs a fraction of a treatment and is worth trying first for a small, new trail with an obvious food source.
